Wouldn’t it be nice if there was a way to play at one of your favorite online poker rooms from anywhere? Well, the Ongame Network is making that happen if you have an Android phone. The Ongame Network is going where only one other online poker room has gone before, and has created a Android real money poker client. The app will be available for download for free on any Android phone, and the skin for the poker game is based off of bwin.com.
Full Tilt Poker was the first to come out with a mobile app, called “Full Tilt Rush Mobile”, but they have recently shut down their site, at least for the time. Ongame is now the only site to have mobile poker, and should draw quite a bit of attention with this move. Ongame currently has an iPhone app that was released in January as well, and this was called “bwin.com Poker”.
The new app is very similar to the iPhone one in terms of looks. It offers games of No Limit, Pot Limit, and Fixed Limit Hold’em cash games, with max limits of $3/$6, $5/$5, and $5/$10. Players can play only one table at a time with the new application. Currently, they do not over tournament style play, but it has been said that tournaments could be added in the future.
The Ongame Network is currently the fourth largest site in terms of cash game traffic, behind on Poker Stars, Party Poker, and the iPoker Network. Bwin.com is just one of the nearly 30 online poker sites that the Ongame Network has, including names like Bet Fair Poker, Hollywood Poker, Coral Poker, and Poker Loco as well.
Back in March, bwin, which is Ongame’s parent company, merged with PartyGaming. This merger meant that Ongame Network would most likely be sold, and if that was to happen it does leave the potential open that the Android app could be no more. The mobile product adds a whole different aspect to the game of poker, and should draw interest from quite a few people, including new possible poker players on the site. It would be hard to imagine the app being shut down if it is doing positive things for the poker site’s daily numbers. With the recent shut down of Full Tilt Poker, there have been quite a few players looking for new homes, and this new move by the Ongame Network could help attract some of the site’s old players.
