Custom Poker Tables Profile: Chris Ferguson

Chris Ferguson is amongst the world’s most talented poker players. Born in California, Ferguson has gone from being a career student to a professional poker player. He earned a bachelors degree from UCLA in five years, and his PhD after 13 years of additional schooling. Since that time Ferguson has built quite a reputation for himself on the felts along with a very impressive professional poker resume.

Chris has won 5 WSOP bracelets, 3 WSOP-C rings, A WSOP Main Event and Heads Up No Limit Hold’ em Championship. Ferguson first began playing online poker as college student. He had a great deal of success early on, ranking as a top tournament poker player. In 1995, he would enter his very first World Series of Poker (WSOP) tournament. Though his finish wasn’t especially impressive, he would soon catch on fire.

Five years later he would make it to the final tables of seven WSOP events, cashing in a total of 12 events. Ferguson would win his first bracelet in 2000 in the $2,500 Seven Card Stud event and take home more then $1 million dollars in winnings that year. Ferguson would win his next WSOP bracelet a year later, in 2001, this time in the $1500 Omaha Hi/Lo Split event. Chris won two more WSOP bracelets in 2003.

If Ferguson has been anything, he has been consistent in his play. In 2008, he was the winner of the NBC Heads Up Championship. He finished in 3rd place in the $1,500 No Limit Hold’ em event and 2nd in the $5,000 World Championship Seven Card Stud Hi/Lo, both in the WSOP. He would finish in second place in the Aussie Millions tournament in Melbourne that year.

Chris Ferguson has proven to be one of the best players in the world. He has made it to more then 20 WSOP final tables and earned nearly $7,000,000 during his career. Overall, Ferguson has had an enviable career. Today, he not only participates in some of the game’s biggest tournaments, he is also a full time player at Full Tilt Poker.
