Atlantic City! Donald Trump-ville! Not sure where this ranks on the East Coast places to play poker with all the Indian Casinos popping up, but you know what I say, “When the towns run a muck and down on it’s luck, the custom poker table games can be won.” Take advantage of these towns while you can. Good deals on rooms come with a price; less tourists means a higher quantity of quality poker players. In short, Donald Trump or Harrah’s owns and operates the majority of the Atlantic city. So let’s take a look at the poker game tables that are our favorites and see if you can find your place in Atlantic City.
Caesar’s Atlantic City – Come experience the ultimate in luxuries, offered by the most legendary name in gaming. Walk in the main entrance and step right into the arena, where you’ll be greeted by over 20 smoke-free gaming tables surrounded by 50″ plasma TVs. Caesars bring you everything you need on the road to riches, from specialty food to full beverage service. Since Harrah’s runs several of the area casinos (Bally’s, Harrah’s, Showboat, and Caesar’s) I see them putting the most custom poker table room love into this casino. Play here and be treated like royalty.
Trump Taj Mahal Casino Resort – The only place to poker on Trump’s dollar. Visit their smoke-free 70-table poker room, second only to Borgatas in Atlantic City. Enjoy tableside food service, free poker instruction and an exclusive high-limit section. This is the home of the United States Poker Championship®.
Trump Marina Hotel Casino – Now the bad news of Trump casinos. Here they offer Texas Hold’Em Bonus, which is a mix of blackjack and Texas Hold’Em except and they have one similarity – crappy odds and no chance to win a big pot. Skip this and leave this for the po’ folk.
Trump Plaza Hotel & Casino - No Poker Room. This also means I’ve never been inside.
Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa – The largest poker room in Atlantic City is at Borgata. They have all variations of Texas Hold ‘Em, 7-Card Stud and Omaha. With 85 tables Borgata says you’ll spend more time playing and less time waiting. I’m wondering how often I will be asking for service as 85 tables sounds like a herd of cattle, which has it’s pros and cons. Borgata has a full cafeteria and a surface parking lot just a few steps away from the poker room.
By the way, the Atlantic City Hilton Casino Resort also has no poker room. If your custom poker tables mojo find it’s way to AC… I’d say get over to Caesar’s and hone your game. Our next spotlight will be east of Atlantic City, we’re jumping the pond to talk about playing poker in the adult disneyland of the world – Amsterdam!
