When you think of St. Louis what do you immediately think of? Some would say the Gateway Arch on the Riverfront. Others would argue that St. Louis is synonymous with sports, such as the St. Louis Cardinals, St. Louis Blues and St. Louis Rams. But when I think about St. Louis, I immediately think about a city full of GREAT poker games. Poker huh? Absolutely. Poker is becoming huge in St. Louis and there are tons and tons of places you can find a home game or a local tournament.

The Casino’s in St. Louis are second to none and offer some of the best poker rooms in the Midwest. Harrah’s St. Louis Casino is one of the larger rooms in STL and they host a large number of poker tournaments. President Casino down on the St. Louis riverfront is considered by some to be the best poker room in the entire St. Louis area. There is always hot poker action at the President Casino. The latest and greatest Casino, Lumiere Place, is a glorious casino with all the bells and whistles. They offer a 13-table poker room that halfway reminds you of playing poker in Vegas, not St. Louis.

On top of playing poker in the casinos, this wonderful city boasts the St. Louis Poker Tour. The St. Louis Poker Tour has become huge in this area hosting games and tournaments all over the STL area. They have the dealers, custom poker tables, the chips and best of all, the prizes! It’s been said that the St. Louis Poker Tour has given out over $250,000 in cash/prizes during it’s existence.
Overall, I would consider St. Louis a great city for poker. If you find yourself traveling through the Midwest be sure to plan out some time to play some poker at the local St. Louis Casino’s and join in on the fun.

The President Casino hasn't had a Poker Room for quite a while. While it was once one of the best views in the city, the management dropped it down to a few tables on the bottom floor of the casino. Several months ago, they only had Seven Card Stud while waiting for the Bad Beat to hit. Now, there is no poker there.
