Poker Player Profile: Huck Seed

Huck Seed may be quiet and unassuming at the poker table but his game speaks volumes. Seed is a world champion, consistent top performer and one of the top players in the game. Huckleberry’s, as he likes to be called, earliest ambition was to become an electrical engineer. However, his propensity for the game of poker caused him to change his mind regarding his eventual career path. He would end up choosing to be a professional poker player rather then an electrical engineer.

Huck won his first World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelet in 1994 in the Pot Limit Omaha event. That win bought him some notoriety and earned him $240,000. Two years later he would return to the WSOP and take home the championship. $1,000,000 was the prize for the Main Event win. That victory not only made him rich, but also sealed his reputation as well regarded professional poker player.

Though unable to match the early success he experienced as a young poker player, Huck was only 27 at the time of his Main event win, he has continued to be a competitive player and one that has carved out a fairly lucrative career for himself. In 1998, Seed won $306,000 at the Carnival of Poker a Las Vegas event. In 1999 he finished in 6th place at the Main Event winning $167,000. In 2000 he won a gold bracelet after participating in the RAZZ event, pocketing more than $77,000 in the process. In 2003 alone, he won a bracelet and also played his way unto five final tables at the WSOP tournament. One year later, in 2004, he finished first at the Festa A Lago which was hosted in Las Vegas. He won $135,000 for his effort.

Huck Seed is still playing quite well and often. He regularly participates in WSOP events, consistently cashes and plays often in Vegas. Seed is sponsored by the well known and very popular online poker website, Full Tilt Poker.
