Joe Hachem is a 44 year old poker player from Lebanon. Although born in Lebanon, Hachem is known more for being Australian, as he moved to Australia at the age of six. Hachem was a chiropractor for 13 years before having a serious health concern in his hand. He then began playing poker, before finally moving to being a professional poker player. His claim to fame in the world of poker is the 2005 World Series of Poker Main Event title. When he won the event, he was the first Australian to win the main event. The event brought him $7.5 million.

Hachem has the one World Series of Poker bracelet, and has finished in the money ten times in his career. He goes by the nickname Diamond Joe in which he garnered during his run in 2005. His win at the WSOP Main Event was over 5,000 other players. After winning the event, it has been credited for a book about poker that has gained popularity along the way. Hachem later in the year made the final table at The World Series of Poker circuit event in Las Vegas, where he led for most of the way until taking a big beat against Kido Pham. Lee Watkinson later knocked him out for fifth place.
Outside of playing poker, Hachem has been married for 21 years, and have four children. All four of his children play poker, and he believes playing helps him and his children out in the long run of life. He also owns a mortgage company, and plays golf with friends during free time. Hachem is a member of Pokerstars and you can find him with the username: “JoeHachem”. He feels his discipline and control are what has led to his success in the game of poker. Hachem will be the first to admit early in his playing career, he was undisciplined and not patient.
