Joseph Cada, from Shelby Charter Township, Michigan is known as the youngest person to ever win the Main Event at the World Series of Poker. Cada was the winner of the 2009 event as a member of TeamPokerStars. At 21 years old, he passed Peter Eastgate for the record. Prior to his major win, he had already won two previous WSOP cash win. His online alias is jcada99, and many know him by the nickname “the kid”.

Cada started his poker playing at the age of 16, mostly online. Him and his brother shared accounts, and he twice lost all his money. Although not legal to play in the United States, Cada began playing in Canada. He then started making trips across the border from his home in Detroit to Windsor Ontario.
Joseph’s mother is a blackjack dealer at the MotorCity Casino in Detroit, MI. During the 2009 World Series of Poker, many of Cada’s friends came to the event dressed in Maize and Blue, for the hometown team Michigan Wolverines. When he entered the final table at the Main Event, he was fifth in chips. His final play of the event was a heads-up against Darvis Moon. Cada is best described as a laid back; fun loving individual that people say has not changed since winning millions. Cada took classes at Macomb Community College, but chose to spend his time playing poker, and is now a successful professional poker player. Since winning the Main Event, Cada has spent a lot of time talking to the various media outlets, but does not miss any big poker events.
