Poker Player Profile: Michael Mizrachi

At the age of 29, Michael Mizrachi is a professional poker player from Miami Florida. Michael is the younger brother of Robert Mizrachi, who has won numerous World Series of Poker and World Poker Tour titles. He also has a twin brother, Eric, who is also a poker player. As he grew up, Michael wanted to be a doctor, but elected to start playing poker, and it’s been all she wrote from there. Fluent in Hebrew, Mizrachi’s father is of Iraqi Jewish origin.

Known as “the Grinder”, for his style of play, Mizrachi got his professional career rolling in 2005 when he reached the final table two straight years at World Poker Tour events. He garnered over $1.8 million when he won the 2005 LA Poker Classic. He also placed 11th place in the WPT $25,000 Championship event, and second place in Tunica, at the Gold Strike World Poker Open.

Michael is married and has a son Paul William, and a daughter Julie Malka. He recently bought a bus to travel with his family to tournament circuit locations. In 2006, Card Player Magazine ranked Mizrachi # 1 player of the year. He also appeared in the second season of the High Stakes Poker TV show.
